Woodborough Parish Council is pleased to announce that it has completed its purchase of the Middups’ field, to the south of Charnwood Way, on Friday December 16th. The purchase price paid was £225,007.07.

The Parish Council has taken a loan from the Public Works Loan Board to pay for the purchase. The amount borrowed is £215,000 and the term of the loan is 50 years. The interest rate is fixed at 3.13%. The annual repayment for the loan will be £8536.04.

The Parish Council will consult the village on the future use of the field and take time to evaluate all options. The Parish Council requests that villagers do not enter the field until such time as it has ultimately been made suitable for public use. In the short term, during the period of consultation and planning, the field may be rented to an agricultural tenant.

The Parish Council appreciates the constructive comments (both for and against the project) made by so many members of the village, and looks forward to the continued involvement of the residents of the parish.
