The arrival of the new play equipment for the Governors’ Field is now a few weeks away.

To start getting the field ready for the installation, it will be necessary to shut the Governors’ Field from next Saturday night (1st July 2017). The old equipment will be removed and some work will be carried out to try to improve the wet/muddy patch on the southern side of the field. The Governors’ Field will be strictly out of bounds during these works.

The Governors’ Field will be reopened briefly for the Street Market on Saturday 15th July.

On Monday 17th July, the installation of the new play equipment will commence. This will take in the region of 4 weeks and during this period the Governors’ Field will be shut. We will put some copies of plans on to the railings so that you can see what is being built.

We know that many children and parents will have happy memories of time spent on the current play equipment – Saturday 1st July will be your last opportunity to enjoy these facilities.

Key dates:

End of 1st July – Governors’ Field closes for removal of old equipment

15th July - Governors’ Field reopens for Street Market only
