I am aware that many of you have been badly affected by the recent floods in Woodborough and Lambley. I am happy to report that there is some financial assistance available at this stressful and upsetting time.

Residents may be eligible for grants from Gedling Borough Council and a further £120 grant from Nottinghamshire County Council if your property has been flooded.

The application for Gedling Borough Council is subject to a flood impact assessment which can be obtained from the customer service department at Gedling Borough Council. The Customer Service Department will be able to advise residents on the technicalities and there is flood information available on Gedling Borough Council’s website.

Business may also be able to apply for a reduction in their business rates for up to 3 months additionally there is Business Recovery Grant available from Nottinghamshire County Council of up to £2,500.

Additionally, there is grant of up to £5,000 to help protect your home and/or business from future flooding. This grant will help homes and businesses to become more resilient to flooding by helping to pay for a range of property improvements such as flood resistance doors.
