Thank you to all who attended the public meeting held on 28th October.
To support Woodborough's case for more investment in flood resilience measures, two points were made very strongly:
- please can everyone whose property was affected by flood water fill out the Gedling form and return it to Gedling BC as detailed, or to the Parish Council via the Village Hall letterbox. (This is the form on green paper that was handed out at the meeting). If your neighbours were affected, please encourage them to fill out the form too. Investment is made in the geographies where most properties would benefit, so if damage in Woodborough goes under reported then - put simply - we lose out.
- investment in flood resilience schemes is always a political decision, so please contact our MP Mark Spencer. Ask for a meeting, or write him a letter or email and explain how you have been affected by flooding. Details for Mark Spencer are as follows:
Sherwood Constituency Office, Room 3, Under One Roof, 3A Vine Terrace, Hucknall, Nottingham NG15 7HN
At the next election, Woodborough will become part of the Gedling constituency. Tom Randall (Conservative) is the sitting MP and his contact details are:
28A High Street, Arnold, Nottingham NG5 7DZ
The Labour candidate is Michael Payne and his contact details are:
2b The Mount, Redhill, Nottingham NG5 8LU
The full meeting notes and further details of how to apply for homeowner flood damage funding will be published here in due course.
